Mark Smith at the 2019 Potters’ Day

We meet on the second Wednesday of the month at Polehampton Junior School in Twyford, Berkshire from 7.45 to 10pm, when we invite a well-known potter to come and demonstrate. These gatherings are an opportunity to meet like minded people, find inspiration and see potters in action within an informal, friendly setting. Admission to these meetings is free for members and £5.00 for visitors.

Once a year we have a ‘Potter’s Day’. This is always held on a Saturday from 10am to 4pm, usually in the Knowl Hill Village Hall (on the A4 between Twyford and Maidenhead). This is an extended opportunity to meet a well renowned potter who is invited to talk about his/her work, show slides and demonstrate.  This day is always a popular, exciting and entertaining event and is one of the highlights of our year. Admission is £25.00 for members and £30.00 for visitors and includes a buffet lunch with juices, tea or coffee.  We also hold a raffle of one of the artist’s works.

The visiting potter for 2019 was Mark Smith.

The culmination of the year is when we hold our annual summer exhibition, usually in Henley as part of the Henley Arts Trail, where members have an exciting opportunity to exhibit and sell their ceramics, if they would like to.  Also a great chance to see and appreciate each other’s work over the year and share a story or two.

Annual membership subscriptions are due on 1st October and are currently £20.00 for single members, £35.00 for couples and £15.00 for full-time students. Subscriptions are reduced pro rata for new members joining during the year.
